Silver & Wright Sponsors League of California Cities to Prioritize Education, Growth in Public Agencies

May 4, 2020

As part of Silver & Wright’s ongoing commitment to serve public agencies and improve their communities, the firm has continued its Silver-Level sponsorship of the League of California Cities (League), an association of California city officials who work together to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange information, and combine resources so that they may influence policy decisions that affect cities.

“Silver & Wright works to align our firm with organizations or associations that positively contribute to our communities and invest in education and support of public agency leaders,” said Founding Partner Curtis Wright. “As evident through the firm’s continuous pro bono efforts to teach and share our insights, Silver & Wright seeks to serve the larger public agency space, and we hope our partnership with the League continues to establish those relationships.”

The League helps officials and staff make informed, honest, and open decisions to improve their communities. Through the League, California’s 482 cities gain opportunities to enhance their innovative ideas and pool resources to serve their constituents. Now more than ever, cities play a pivotal role during emergencies and crises to protect the health and safety of the public while maintaining necessary services.

As part of the firm’s sponsorship of the League, Silver & Wright will attend the League’s 2020 Annual Conference from October 7 to 9. That conference serves as a key event for city staff, elected officials, and other people in the local government space to discuss best practices, network, and celebrate accomplishments. Silver & Wright will host a booth in the Expo Hall to converse with public agency leaders and conference attendees and has offered to lead multiple sessions for the League to explore topical aspects of nuisance abatement law.

“Silver & Wright’s commitment to public service, sharing knowledge, and coming alongside other government leaders aligns with the League’s principles and priorities,” said League Public Affairs Director Bismarck Obando. “The firm continues to be an influential and involved partner to the League, and we value the wisdom and services Silver & Wright brings to our events.”

Silver & Wright LLP attorneys regularly volunteer by teaching classes and speaking at seminars and conferences all over California on issues relevant to receiverships, nuisance abatement, code enforcement, and police services. The firm’s attorneys have developed unique and cutting-edge solutions to achieve success for their clients in cost-effective ways.

The Community Outreach Committee is the community volunteer arm of the Orange County Bar Association. The Committee’s goal is to assist the local community in various volunteer efforts by providing community service opportunities to the OCBA and its members. In some ways, the Committee members are the face of the OCBA as perceived by residents in Orange County. It is our hope that the Committee’s volunteer work will help to create a positive image of the OCBA and the legal profession among those in the community.
